Many owners have to realize that an older lawn is no longer beautiful. Heavy wear and tear can leave its mark despite regular maintenance. Even reseeding or fertilizing can only help to a limited extent. It is often due to the sub-optimal condition of the soil.
We will tell you how to repair your lawn easily and quickly. Our substrate is the ideal solution here.
The roots only penetrate the upper five to ten centimetres of the soil. We have developed particular volcanic-based substrates for this purpose. The volcanic substrate starting materials pumice and lava offer optimal conditions for a hard-wearing green lawn. They are consistently homogeneous mixtures according to the current FLL guidelines.
The substrate is very light, loose, and easy to process. Since the roots always need a lot of air or are very sensitive to stagnant moisture, one should not skimp on the substrate.
The optimum time for renewing is between May and September. The old lawn is first mowed as deeply as possible and then thoroughly scarified lengthwise and crosswise. It ensures that the seed receives the best germination conditions. Now the seed is evenly distributed.
The substrate is then regularly spread with a rake at least 0.5 cm above the sown area. After planting, irrigation is necessary for the first 3 to 4 weeks. The first small blades of grass appear after only one week. Further regular watering guarantees an optimal result.
